What is our Worship Center Refresh?

After many years of joyful and fruitful ministry in our sanctuary building, it is beginning to show signs of its age. We are excited to enter into a fundraising campaign to raise the $150,000 that we need to make some helpful updates. Our desire is to stand on the faithful foundation we’ve been given and make an investment in the future of our church’s ministry.

Our hope is to give this space a new look for a new season of new impact.

A More Welcoming Environment

When someone visits our campus, we want to send a strong message: that we have been waiting for you! A handful of thoughtful upgrades will help us in our work to practice hospitality - welcoming guests into our family gatherings.

Prepared for Growth

The coming season of ministry will bring thousands of people through our doors. These efforts will help us prepare to meet them, to serve them, and to share with them the life changing message of the Gospel.

good stewards of our facility

These buildings are gifts that God has provided through the faithful stewardship of our congregation over the years. We want to be the best stewards that we can be, taking great care to maximize their use for God’s purposes.

Refreshed Sanctuary

Our main sanctuary is the primary gathering space for our church family. It remains the largest room on our campus and is used in a variety of ways. It sees hundreds of people come and gather each week and thousands more each year with services, community events and programs that we host here. Our desire for this space is to update the room while still preserving some of our traditional elements.

New paint and new commercial grade carpet will instantly make a big difference. New chairs will replace our current chairs, some of which are more than 30 years old. A simple and more streamlined stage will help us to focus on the most important elements of our time together – worshiping the Lord through the ministry of the Word, prayer, and song. New lighting fixtures and color schemes will help to brighten up the room and will serve to make the space inviting and welcoming.

More than just Sunday

Our Sanctuary is the central gathering place for our Sunday morning services, but those gatherings are just one of many regular uses of this space. Over the years, this room has played host to:

• Concerts •Conferences •Community events
•Weddings •Funerals •Kids & Youth Events
• Non-profit meeting space •Much more

Refreshed Café

Coffee has long been the currency of connections. We serve coffee each week in order to care for the church family and guests and in order to foster good conversation and relationships. What a simple way to serve so great a need! With some updates to this space we hope to enhance our ability to serve people and help them foster connections. We plan to update the paint color and décor, add some wall lighting and wall features, long countertop on which to serve coffee, and even provide a place for some seating. As people enter our worship space the smell of fresh coffee and the smiling faces of our café volunteers will greet them and invite them to pour a cup and strike up a conversation, whether they’ve been part of our church for 10 years or 10 minutes.

Refreshed Family Room

Our church has a long history of exceptional family ministry. We have made deep commitments to youth and children’s ministry over the years. Our family room provides a place for restless little ones and their parents to find some space and solace if needed. Our updates in this room are designed to ensure that our littlest members and their parents have a warm and inviting place to retreat to during our services. We place a high priority on gathering with our church family and want young families to be with us as often as they can. New paint and décor, a kids’ play area, and a new TV to watch our livestream while visiting the family room will help us care for these young families and serve them well.

Refreshed Lobby

Everyone knows the importance of a good first impression. Our foyer will again serve as a main entrance to our worship space and our hope is to gently update that area to provide a great first impression for guests and members. Updates to paint, flooring, and lighting will instantly bring the space in line with the theme and décor of the rest of the worship space. A bright and inviting room will await all who enter through our foyer.

Do we really need this?

Our campus has seen many updates and changes through the years. The main sanctuary has not seen an update in roughly 17 years. The aesthetic elements are showing their age and our commitments to Biblical Hospitality and being good stewards lead us to this project. We want to make sure that we are prepared to receive and minister to people as they find themselves on our campus.

Is this the best time to do this?

With an aging campus you may wonder if this needs to happen right now. Ongoing maintenance is a present and future reality for us. However, we have addressed the critical areas that we are aware of and are confident that future projects will be able to be funded through our budget or special offerings when the time of need arises. Our congregation has always risen to those challenges.

When will work on the project begin?

Our plan is to wait until the funds are available before beginning any work. It is not our intention to borrow money for this project, but to use what is raised to cover the costs.

What is this going to cost?

The total estimated cost for this project is $150,000. The following is the estimated breakdown of each space being renovated.

We can’t do this without you!

We want our campus to be known as a place where anyone can walk through the door and immediately feel welcomed. We want to utilize and steward well these incredible facilities we’ve been blessed with. And we want our gathering spaces to be ready for the next season of growth here at Newtown Road. But we cannot do it without your support. Your prayers, your encouragements, your financial gifts, and even you talents are needed to make these goals a reality. Here are some important opportunities for you to join us.

1. PRAY

The most important thing you can do is to pray. Ask God to lead us. Ask Him to provide all that we need. Ask Him to show you how you and your family might be involved. Ask Him to use this project to open up more ministry opportunities in the future. We’ll be hosting a church-wide prayer night on 5/31 and also a Week of Prayer June 5-9.

2. GIVE

In order for us to reach our goals we are going to need to give generously as God is leading. We collected a special offering on June 11 - Commitment Sunday, but you can still give to help us complete our goal!

3. SERVE

One of the ways we’ll be able to keep costs down is through volunteer teams. Maybe you would be able to help us with some of the physical labor involved in the project? Those opportunities will be available once we begin. renovations.
