Service at the Halfmoon Town Park

  • Halfmoon Town Park (map)

We have been given the honor of leading a worship service at The Halfmoon Town Park on Sunday morning, June 5, 2016, from 10am-11am, in conjunction with the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall (more info) and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. This privilege is an answer to our prayers as we have been looking for new ways to serve our community and to preach the gospel. We will be focusing that day on Jesus' words in John 15, "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

Due to the service at the Town Park there will be NO SERVICES here on our Newtown Road Campus that morning. There will also be NO KIDS PROGRAMS or NURSERY that day.

We are encouraging our church family to come and worship with us in the Town Park that morning in the tent, but are asking our Newtown Road family to keep the mission in mind - we are there as guests to serve. What does that mean for you? We'd like you to arrive early, at around 9:30am to make sure that you've given ample time for parking and walking to the tent. We're asking our church members to have lawn chairs in their vehicles in the event that the seats start filling up - this event is open to the community and all who are visiting the Wall Memorial that day. We're asking that you plan on sticking around after the service to tour the wall, to be present in our community, and enjoy some time together.

Our team is so excited to have this honor and we are praying that God would use this opportunity to advance the Gospel and the Mission of our church right here in our community. Would you pray with us?
